Why choose Hazel Dell Children's Village?
We know that you have MANY options when making one of the most important decisions you can for your child's development and safety.
We urge you to consider the following when making your decision:
- Individually owned and operated,Hazel Dell Children's Village was first licensed in 1989 becoming the FIRST Children's Village in Washington, celebrating 20 years of service to Clark County this April 2009.
- Unlike corporate centers, Hazel Dell Children's Village continues to be OWNED AND OPERATED by it's original owner, Debra Rinell
- Hazel Dell Children's Village has employed more than a dozen staff who were once children in our care; which tells you how they felt about their childcare experiences.
- Hazel Dell Children's Village adheres to the USDA Food Program for Children; offering nutritious meals and snacks at no charge to any of our families.
- Hazel Dell Children's Village conducts a Criminal Background Check on ALL staff and volunteers.
- Hazel Dell Children's Village requires ALL, not just Lead Staff, to become certified by the State Training and Registry System, requiring 20 hours of Basic "S.T.A.R.S." training, and 10 hours of ongoing training per year, outside of standard working hours. In addtion staff are required to participate in at least 3 all day in-services per year focused on classroom environment, curriculum development, and child development. While not required to, Hazel Dell Children's Village pays for all of the above training; as well as other certifications such as: First Aid, CPR, and Food Handling, to ensure that your child(ren) are being served by educated professionals and not babysitters.
- Hazel Dell Children's Village offers 6 credit hours per semester of paid tuition to staff enrolled in Early Childhood Education college courses.
- Hazel Dell Children's Village offers FREE childcare to qualified staff to ensure that your child(ren) are being served by childcare specialists who are Mom's themselves.
- Staff Benefits such as those listed above, combined with flexible schedules that allow for 4 day work weeks, and part-time job sharing, help us enjoy a lower staff turnover, so your children grow with those they've come to know best.
- Hazel Dell Children's Village offers convenient hours of 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through SATURDAY
